Website & Font Thumbnails
DESCRIPTION
With the release of his new fonts to myfonts.com, I worked with Chank Diesel to design thumbnails that would show all the different ways the fonts could be used.
CHANKFONTS.COM
I created Chank Diesel’s website as well as photographed products in Meowijuana & Field Day.
WOLVES GOTHIC
This font was used for the Minnesota Timberwolves before their rebranding. Through these thumbnails, I showcased the font in a futuristic, presentational, industrial, and motivational context.
SKIPPYSHARP
SkippySharp is a fun, smart, and easy to read typeface which replicates the strokes of a marker. With this in mind, I created an image set that reproduces the strokes of chalk, marker, paint, and pen in different and mostly casual and educational contexts.
CHIPPEWA FALLS
Chippewa may be used in many different contexts including Americana, retro, and many more. And in being a retro/American typeface, I selected iconic American excerpts, colors, & imagery to further emulate this aesthetic.
SHRUB
Shrub exhibits a classic printed texture with uneven edges and occasional smudges. Most designed samples included a magazine-like feel, one with a reference to the font’s home city of Minneapolis. However, another displays the font in a juvenile/skater kid design with exploding stars and lines to show that this rough-edged font can be used in so many more contexts.
SWINGDANCER
Swingdancer has a smooth & classic feel. I copied some excerpts from an old and iconic American movie as well as retro decorations to further enforce the old, classic aesthetic.
DRUNK COWBOY
Drunk Cowboy is a playful display font, and as such, I gave it a comical and typical old Western flair.
